So what's that get stitched rate?

For In Stock Designs (Shown On The "Designs" Page)!

  • current quilting rate = 2.25 cents ($0.0225) per square inch

(For example: Quilt top size is 60" W x 80" L = 4800 square inches.  4800 x $0.0225 = $108.00)

  • minimum charge = $50.00 per project (quilted item)

(For example: The charge for a mini quilt, wall hanging, table runner, placemat set, etc. whose square inch total price falls under $50.00 will be rounded up to the $50.00 minimum.)

Happy Camper by Loralie Designs
  • For two or more small items that can be loaded on the same piece of backing fabric and that will use the same design, the total square inches can be calculated and charged as one larger quilt top.

Not Sure What Design To Choose?

  • We would be happy to choose a design for you.  We try to pick designs that complement the fabric and/or pattern/theme of the quilt top/project.

  • If there is a style of design you know for sure you don't want (e.g. themed design, linear, etc.) please let us know.

  • Our personal preference is less dense quilting.  We like a wrinkly huggable quilt.  Please let us know up front if you prefer your quilting on the dense side.

Need More Design Options?

  • For additional edge-to-edge design options, search any of the websites below.  If you find a design you like that we don't own we will purchase and test the design (you will pay only 50% of the digital file price).

  • Based on the density, complexity, and/or stitch-out time of the design you choose, there may be a slightly higher square inch price.

  • Once the design has been tested, you will be contacted with the square inch price.

  • When searching use the terms "digital pantograph" or "digital edge-to-edge" to locate compatible file types.

New Horizon Quilt Pattern
  • We use Glide 40 wt. Trilobal Polyester, Isacord 40 wt. Polyester Continuous Filament Trilobal, Affinity 40 wt. Variegated Polyester, and Magna-Glide Delights 40 wt. Trilobal Polyester threads.

  • solid thread color = $6.00 per project

  • variegated thread color = $8.00 per project

  • Do you want a color that blends with the lighter fabrics in your project and stands out on the darker ones, or vice versa?

  • If you have something specific in mind, please let us know.  If you want us to choose, we would be happy to do that.

  • We like color and our personal preference is to see the stitching and in most cases the thread.  However, it's your quilt top/project and we want you to be happy with it!

  • Check out the "Threads" page to see what's in stock!

Don't forget batting for the middle!

Quilt Batting!

  • We stock Quilters Dream 100% natural cotton select batting on a 93” roll.  If selected, the batting needed for your quilt top/project will be figured by adding 6” to the shortest side of your quilt top/project and then charged per linear inch.  This allows 3” on either side for coverage.

(For example: If you have a 60” W x 80” L quilt top, 66” of batting would be cut from the roll.)

Quilts by Stitched Waters Quilting
  • quilters dream 100% cotton select - midloft (natural, non-bleached) = $0.43 per linear inch

  • We also stock Quilters Dream Bamboo Midloft sold by the bag per size needed.

       60" x 60" = $19.30 / 93" x 72" = $33.80 / 96" x 93" = $43.70 / 108" x 93" = $48.40

  • You can also provide your own HIGH QUALITY (e.g. Quilters Dream or Hobbs) batting if you would like.

  • If you supply your own batting IT MUST be AT LEAST 6" wider AND 6" longer than your quilt top/project.

Soft & Stable For Bag Making!

  • We stock soft & stable on a 58" roll.  The soft & stable needed for your project will be figured by adding 4" to the width of your "main" fabric and then charged per linear inch.

  • soft & stable (white - from byannie.com) = $0.68/linear inch

(For example: If the bag project calls for 1-1/2 yards of main fabric and your fabric is 44" wide, the cut will be 48" x 58" (which will cover the 1-1/2 yards in length) and the charge would be 48" x $0.68/linear inch = $32.64.)

Now let's finish it off!

Binding Services!

  • You can choose to have your quilt finished with prepared binding sent by you, or binding can be created with fabric provided by you.

  • If you choose to prepare the binding you will need to sew the strips together on the diagonal and fold the binding in half & iron it flat as well.

  • You will need to provide prepared binding length equal to the outside perimeter of your quilt top/project plus 10 inches.  If you have questions about this, please let us know.

  • If we will be creating the binding you will need to provide at least 1 full yard of fabric for the binding.  The binding will be created at 2 1/4" wide unless otherwise requested.

What Are The Costs For Binding Services?

  • package 1 = $0.30 per linear inch ~ Trim quilt/project, attach binding by machine to the front and hand stitch to the back.

  • package 2 = $0.10 per linear inch ~ Trim quilt/project, attach binding by machine to the front for you to finish on the back.

Red Trucks & Dogs Christmas Panel

(For example: Quilt/project is 60" W x 80" L ~ add all sides together

60 + 80 + 60 + 80 = 280 linear inches.

280 linear inches x $0.30 per linear inch = $84.00 OR

280 linear inches x $0.10 per linear inch = $28.00)

  • Minimum binding charge (for attaching binding) = $25.00

  • create binding with fabric you send = $25.00 additional charge

  • Please add 4 full days to the turnaround time for each quilt/project to provide binding services.

What about other costs?

  • Seaming Backing together horizontally.  If you need your backing seamed, please make sure you provide enough backing fabric that when it is seamed horizontally it will be AT LEAST 8" wider AND 8" longer than your quilt top/project.

  • $10.00 per seam for simple backing (i.e. solid color)

  • $20.00 per seam for more complex backing (i.e. designs that have to be matched up)

  • Please do not include the selvage edges in your calculations as they will be cut off before seaming.

  • Please consider that you will need to purchase extra backing fabric if it is patterned or directional in order for it to be matched up.

NOTE: Wideback is the best thing for backing a quilt.  There are widebacks to fit almost all quilt sizes and will allow for no seams on the back of your quilt.  If you find a wideback online you'd like us to use, you can purchase it and have them ship it directly to us (to save you some shipping).  Just be sure you calculate the amount you need correctly and order enough yardage to be AT LEAST 8" wider AND 8" longer than your quilt top/project.

  • Adding Leaders = $10.00 per leader added ~ If we need to add leaders to your backing fabric because your backing is not 8” wider AND 8” longer than your quilt top/project

  • Just Basting = 2 cents ($0.02) per square inch ~ For you to hand quilt or free motion quilt to finish it up

  • Quilt Prep = $25.00/hour (with a minimum half hour charge) (e.g. sewing seams back together, pressing the top or backing, trimming threads, correcting fullness to prevent puckers/tucks, etc.)

  • Sales Tax = 7.5% ~ For services & materials within the state of Florida.  We are required by the state of Florida & Washington County to collect 7.5% sales tax on all services and materials used to complete the project.  The design fee (if you requested a new design) and shipping are not subject to tax.

  • The charges are not subject to sales tax if you are located outside the state of Florida.

What You Should Know!

Quilting should be enjoyable!  Fullness happens and not everyone is a perfectionist when piecing or is having their quilt judged in a show.  We believe every quilt should be lovable, huggable and cherished no matter how flat and square it is.  We will do everything we can to ensue it finishes as flat and square as possible, but please keep in mind that the quilting process does not square your quilt top/project or 'fix' any fullness, wavy borders, inaccurate cutting, or problem seams.  Please let us know up front about any issues you are aware of.  We can use our judgment to address any issues encountered while quilting.  There is a place on the "Get Stitched" booking form for you to let us know your preference on this.
